Wolfgang Classical Wind Ensemble & Singers

Jeff Reynolds, trumpet soloist, began playing the trumpet in grade school under the instruction of teacher Mildred Blake at New Harmony, IN.  He continued his music education at the University of Evansville and went on to study trumpet under instructor Everett Northcutt.  He also studied trumpet with Indiana University trumpet instructor Bill Adam before moving to Los Angeles, California to study with Paramount Studio recording artist John Clyman.  Jeff has also performed with the late, legendary trumpeter, Maynard Ferguson.

In 1990 Reynolds retired from trumpet playing to focus on raising his family. He just recently, in 2008, began playing again with the local Rhythm and Blues Band "All Put Together.” He became a member of the Wolfgang Ensemble in the spring of 2009.

Jeff would like to express his appreciation to Mr. Dennis Noon for his hard work and dedication in presenting this quality music.

The Wolfgang Classical Wind Ensemble was organized in the summer of 2006 for the advanced students of Mr. Noon. In September 2008 the Wolfgang Singers were added to the ensemble.  Wolfgang Ensemble and Singers continue now for the express purpose of rehearsing and performing in a group of equally talented adults and advanced students. Rehearsals are at Old North UMC, 4201 Stringtown Rd, Evansville on Friday evenings from 5:30 to 8:00.

Area adult and youth instrumentalists looking for an opportunity to play challenging classical music are invited to participate in this organization. Adult players are expected to have a minimum of 6 years playing experience, and youth players are required to audition and to study privately.  Vocalists are required to have a good voice and be able to read music.  Membership acceptance is contingent upon instrumentation and vocal needs as determined by the conductor.  Musicians interested in performing with Wolfgang, please contact the director at 812-838-4481.

Amy A. E. Noon, flute soloist, received her Bachelor of Music Education degree in May 1995 from Cumberland College in Williamsburg, KY. While studying at Cumberland College, she served as principle flutist for the Cumberland Wind Ensemble and Chamber Ensemble; and, was also named ‘Cumberland College Instrumentalist of the Year’ in 1995.

After graduation she traveled to Honduras, Central America and taught at El Buen Pastor (The Good Shepard) Bilingual Episcopal School. While in Central America, she studied Spanish as a second language in Guatemala, Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Honduras, which led her to teaching at La Escuela Internacional Sampedrana, the American Bilingual School in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. Amy began an Orff instrumental music program for the 600-student primary school and directed many all school performances utilizing Orff instruments.

After teaching and studying abroad in Central America for four years, she returned to the United States to begin her career as a middle school band director. Until the spring of 2004, Amy taught instrumental music in Henderson, KY at North and South Middle Schools. She split her time between the two middle schools providing assistance and instruction for the head directors for both band programs. She was also the woodwind specialist for the Colonel's Brigade and Guard in the fall for the competitive marching band season. In the fall of 2004, Amy was selected to take on a very successful band program at LaBelle Middle School in LaBelle, Florida. She directed a program that included beginning, intermediate, advanced and jazz bands. Accomplishments include excellent ratings at the Florida Bandmasters Association Music Performance Assessment, superior and excellent ratings at FBA Solo and Ensemble Competition, and successful launching of the Bronco Band website.

Amy has since returned to her home state of Kentucky and is currently the director of bands at West Jessamine Middle School in Nicholasville, KY. The program includes 170 beginning, intermediate and advanced band members. Amy has many major professional and life goals that she is continually pursuing. In December 2006, she completed her Master's Degree in Secondary Education from the University of Southern Indiana and hopes to pursue a Doctorate in Music Education.
