| Michelle Forche, Piccolo Soloist |
Michelle Forche, Piccolo Soloist, started playing flute when she was 11 years old. Although she wanted to play clarinet,
her teacher wouldn't let her: After the teacher handed Michelle a flute head joint and Michelle actually got a sound, the
teacher made her play the flute. Mrs. Forche played in All City Band for one year and, while a student at Reitz, four years
in the marching band. Her freshman year she was required to learn piccolo and in her words, "They gave me a crummy school
piccolo, which I hated, so I started playing alto sax my sophomore year." After high school, Forche lost interest in
playing until 1998, when she started playing flute and piccolo for Crossroads Christian Church. Amazingly, Michelle never
had a flute lesson until last year when she studied with Kara Santos, principal flute with EPO. Michelle comments, "The
best thing that has every happened to me musically was finding Wolfgang. The level of the music is mostly above my playing
ability, but it forces me to practice and is a great feeling of accomplishment when I can learn to play a piece perfectly.
I still get nervous when I play a solo and I love the challenge, but I hate the nervousness." When Michelle first joined
Wolfgang Classical Wind Ensemble she was offered first chair and she declined because she had never played professionally.
Today she sits in the "dreaded principal flute" position and plays masterfully!

| Teddy Marks, Tenor Soloist |
Teddy Marks, our tenor soloist, joins us for a second season. He is also the father of two of the Wolfgang ensemble. Since
its inception, Wolfgang has had Teddy's full support. When first asked to sing with Wolfgang, Teddy agreed somewhat reluctantly
(Italian arias are a far cry from R&B and rock, his preferred music genres!). But he agreed because Mr. Noon has been
and continues to be a good personal friend and faithful teacher of the Marks children. For the larger group, Teddy understands
Mr. Noon's desire to constantly stretch the ensemble's experience and ability, including that of accompanying vocal music,
and is pleased to assist in that teaching endeavor. But there's more to this story. "When Mr. Noon asked me to consider
an encore for another season, it was easy to say 'Yes'. During the first season I realized how fortunate I was as a vocalist
to have the opportunity to perform live with an instrumental group as large and accomplished as Wolfgang. This has been a
blast. To top it all, I get to perform my favorite aria from my college days which just happens to be a Mozart piece."
A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Teddy completed his vocal music performance degree at Christopher Newport College, Newport
News, Virginia, while working as an operational nuclear test engineer.
